Why a Retaining Wall

When a landscape is being designed, one of the first things that have to be planned is the finished grade of the land. The ground needs to be leveled well in areas where features such as an outdoor kitchen, patio, deck, driveway or walkways have to be installed. Aside from this, care has to be taken that the grading gradually slopes towards the outside of your property- this helps keep the water away from the foundation of your house.

If there is excessive sloping of land on your property and the area has to be excavated and leveled to make space for these installations, the exposed rock and soil need to be supported; this is where retaining walls are built.
